How We Transformed
Data into a Digital
Experience
Project Overview
IGNITE’s annual Impact Report aims to transparently convey our organization’s achievements to our students, partners, and stakeholders, illustrating the value generated from student fees. Previously, the Impact Report existed as a lengthy PDF, densely packed with information but difficult for readers to navigate and fully absorb. In 2022, I led a redesign to transform this static document into an engaging, web-based experience that is both accessible and meaningful. Fast-forward to 2023, the annual Impact Report has continued to grow and evolve as a strong marketing project.

The Challenge:
IGNITE's annual Impact Report was traditionally a long, text-heavy PDF that lacked accessibility and engagement. The report needed to be more visually dynamic, easier to navigate, and reflective of IGNITE’s brand identity while effectively showcasing the organization's accomplishments.
Print + Digital Advertising

Creative Process
The primary objective was to ensure students and stakeholders could easily understand and appreciate IGNITE’s impact. To accomplish this, I envisioned a clean, visually engaging webpage, prioritizing accessibility and clarity while maintaining a professional tone suited to both student readers and formal partners.

Inspiration
Drawing inspiration from the 2021 Girls Who Code Impact Report website, my goal was to balance functionality with an aesthetic that resonates with our diverse audience.
Layout + Key Features
This project required seamless collaboration across IGNITE’s creative teams. Using Figma as our primary design tool, I worked closely with our web developer, copywriting team, graphic designer, and videographer to shape an interactive, intuitive webpage that would convey data and achievements in a compelling, readable way.

Restructured information hierarchy, breaking down dense content into digestible sections. Visual anchors and clear section headings guide readers through each accomplishment.
Visual + Interactive Elements
Streamlined Structure
Integrated video, graphics, and icons to encapsulate complex ideas and data points, making the content more approachable and less text-heavy. Our graphic designer and videographer contributed content that reinforces IGNITE’s brand values and mission.

Innovations for the 2023-2024 Impact Report
The second iteration of the IGNITE Impact Report saw a significant increase in unique page views. This growth highlights the success of our continued focus on user experience and accessibility.
Building on the success of the previous year, we refined and expanded the design to deliver a clean, interactive webpage optimized for mobile users.
-
Responsive Layouts: Flexible grids and scalable assets allowed the report to adapt flawlessly to smaller screens without compromising readability or functionality.
-
Increased Engagement: Incorporating dynamic elements like scroll-triggered animations and embedded videos and links.
